This Research Note aims to provide a solution to a long standing open problem concerning the structures of the C*-algebras of two-step solvable Lie groups. The study combines approaches from harmonic analysis, foliations and groupoids. The book should be of special interest to researchers and graduate students working in functional analysis, operator algebras, harmonic analysis of Lie groups, topology and geometry. The book also includes an introductory survey about the C*-algebras of Lie groups, particularly in regard to the connection between representation theory and the rapidly growing noncommutative topology and geometry.
